Join us for a thrilling night of film scores, fiddle tunes, Bach, and a 'sneak peek' of Appalachian Rhapsody, a new composition for fiddle, piano and full orchestra... this is a show not to be missed!
WHO: Matt Combs, Grammy-nominated fiddler and former member of the Grand Old Opry house band, and Nate Strasser, film composer, pianist, staff accompanist for the musical theater department at Belmont University and music director at East Brentwood Presbyterian Church.
WHAT: In addition to playing classic fiddle tunes and film scores, Matt and Nate will debut their new composition, Appalachian Rhapsody at EBPC. This violin-piano reduction is a musical, almost cinematic, journey of the history and breadth of fiddle music in America. The orchestral premiere of Appalachian Rhapsody will take place April 13th, 2018 with the Wheeling Symphony. But, you can hear it at EBPC first!
WHEN: Saturday, April 29 at 6:30 p.m.
WHERE: East Brentwood Presbyterian Church on the corner of Wilson Pike and Concord Road. Free parking is available.
DONATIONS: Admission to Appalachian Rhapsody is free. During the concert, we will be asking for a love offering for Nate and Matt so that they can continue their work on Appalachian Rhapsody.
We hope to see you on April 29 at 6:30 p.m. for this one-of-a-kind show!
