January Newsletter
During the month of January we will be ringing in the New Year. Our exploration of winter will have us learning about snow, mittens, jackets and hibernation. We will cover the letters G, J, D and P. Remember January 18th we do not have school in honor of Martin Luther King Day. We will be talking a bit about the holiday so you may want to expand on it at home. During the letter D week we will be having Dino Day on Friday the 22nd. This is an all time favorite with the children. We will also be having PJ day at the end of the month Friday the 29th. This year we would like to have a PJ-Hop all parents and siblings are welcome to come to dance and have fun. The time is scheduled to be around 1:00pm, but I will let you know for sure later in the month. As always we are working on our social skills. The smiley face chart will move to two smiley faces. In Kindergarten they are very strict with this discipline chart, so we will be practicing to prepare for this. Remember to watch the news or channel 3 for all school closings. We follow the Williamson County School schedule. If the school is opening late we will also. Two hours late for WCS is 11:00 for EBPC. Let it snow.

Meet Ms. Pam
My name is Pam Kornman and I have been a teacher at East Brentwood Presbyterian Church Preschool for the past ten years. I am a transplant from the north moving to Williamson County during my middle school years. I love it here and have never left. I attended Brentwood Middle School then Northside Jr. High and Franklin High School. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Trevecca University (TNU) in Nashville. I have been happily married to my husband David for 20 years and have two beautiful daughters Hailey (18) and Darby (13). As a family we enjoy anything related to the water. We love the beach, we enjoy boating on the local lakes and love to cruise the ocean. My husband David is my longtime sweetheart. We are blessed that he is self employed and works out of our home. He is a fabulous soccer mom /stay home dad and enjoys his time with his family. During the school year we are usually found on the soccer field. Darby has played travel soccer since she was 8 years old and is a fiery little defender. She won the state cup in 2007. She also plays for Brentwood Middle school on the Varsity team. Hailey has been a dancer since the age of 3. She has been with Franklin school of Performing Arts since middle school and for her senior year she will be choreographing her own piece and performing at Vanderbilt’s Ingram Hall. She is in the process of choosing a college, much to the disbelief of her parents. My advice to all the parents is cherish every moment with your little ones-college will be here before you know it. Thank you for sharing your precious gifts with me. |
